User permissions determine which apps and packs users can access, and what they're allowed to do with them. These permissions are assigned for two reasons:
- Simplicity: If your user doesn't need access to certain apps or packs, there's no need for them to be displayed! Removing access to an app means it will not appear on this user's dashboard.
- Security: Not every SaaSphalt user needs access to your entire SaaSphalt account. Permissions allow you to limit a user's access to sensitive information like accounting.
For more information on apps and packs, please see What are apps and packs?
Navigate to Manage User Permissions

- Click the Gear icon

- Click Manage User Permissions & Subscriptions
Global Permissions
There are several levels of permissions you can grant a SaaSphalt user. The first two options pertain to permissions that will apply to every app and pack the user has access to.
- Give full Administrator permissions:
- User will be able to add or modify other user's permissions
- User will be able to make changes to subscriptions that affect SaaSphalt pricing
- User can customize screens within all apps they have access to
- User can access the manage link in the contextual menu on the app
- Give full Customizer permissions:
- User can customize screens within all apps they have access to
Pack and App Permissions
You can also control which packs and apps the user can access:
- On the list of packs, find the pack you wish to grant access to
- Click expand to see the apps inside the pack
- Click the checkbox next to the pack name to give the user access to all the apps in the pack
In the below example, we are giving the user access to all the apps in the Sales Transactions Pack (not all apps shown).
Permission Description
Every app will have the following permissions:
- Access: SaaSphalt user will see the app on their dashboard and be able to access it
- Edit: SaaSphalt user can make edits to a record.
When editing a transaction, adding or deleting items is considered an Edit permission, not a Delete permission. - Create: This permission is not available in stock apps
- Delete: grants SaaSphalt user the ability to delete a record within this app. If this is unchecked, user will not be able to delete any record related to this app!
For example, the Activity App has Activity Types and Activity Statuses. The user will be unable to delete an activity as well as the activity types and activity statuses if the delete permission is removed - Approve: This permission is not available in stock apps
- Customize: grants the ability to customize the app
- Manage: grants the ability to select Manage from the app's contextual menu
Click Save at the bottom of the screen to apply these settings.
- In your user's account, apps and packs they don't have access to will not be displayed.
- Their access within the apps is dictated by their permissions (e.g. if they don't have customizer access on the Invoice app, they will not be able to customize screens within that app).
